Here’s a look at some of the season’s best.

French fashion house Hermès is offering a ski collection for women that features waterproof anti-UV ski jackets, cashmere knits, and mink-lined collars, as well as printed silk neck scarves (US$720/RM2,284), sublimely fitted white canvas ski pants with waterproof leather trim (US$2,450), and a down jacket (US$4,475).

As you’d expect, the collection includes plenty of attention to detail, such as waterproof zips, built-in key holders, and thermal insulation.

Designer labels Fendi, Pucci, and Armani also regularly turn out high-style ski gear, yet some of the most coveted jackets come from Bogner, M Miller, and Stella McCartney, who has made designer skiwear accessible with her partnership with Adidas.

Porsche Design Sport also recently unveiled its winter 2013 collection showpiece: the Tech Down Jacket, filled with feather and down and good to go from slopes to streets. The jacket also features smart high-performance features such as integrated gloves, a detachable snow guard, and two hoods, one detachable and filled with PrimaLoft thermal insulation.

Japanese brand White Mountaineering and Moncler’s “Moncler W” have also just unveiled a men’s collection of cold weather garb, including quilted down outwear, all-weather pants, and an array of ski-ready accessories, such as hats and gloves. — AFP-Relaxnews
